You do not need to be the expert in the room.
Holy Journey leaders facilitate faithfully. They make room for adults to encounter the lesson, one another, and the life of the Church—without taking the place of Christ or the Church.

Faithful facilitation is more important than having every answer.
Leadership should be reproducible by appropriately formed lay Catholics. A leader’s authority is not personal expertise, but humble fidelity to the lesson, participant freedom, and the Church.

Facilitate faithfully and create welcome.
Cultivate a safe, hospitable room where adults feel noticed, listened to, and comfortable sharing their journey without judgment.
Protect participant freedom and keep discussion connected to the lesson.
Gently steer conversation toward the shared reflection and Scripture while honoring the varied pace of adult conversion and discernment.
Respect confidentiality and maintain appropriate boundaries.
Preserve deep trust within the group by holding conversations in confidence and practicing healthy relational clarity.
Recognize when referral is needed and lead with Christian hope.
Know pastoral limits and know when to direct participants to the pastor, Confession, professional care, or spiritual directors.
Point beyond themselves toward Christ and His Church.
A leader is not the destination. The ultimate goal is grounding participants in the sacraments, the Eucharist, and lifelong parish life.
